BUSINESSWOMAN Stephanie Booth has hit back at criticism of a giant street party she is organising.

The Leader revealed plans for the bank holiday Monday event in Wrexham town centre earlier this week.

Since then it has drawn a lively and mixed response from our website readers.

Some accused Mrs Booth of seeking self-promotion and of wanting to create the Stephanie Booth show.

But Mrs Booth said: “In life there are those who work hard to get things done and there are others who sit around criticising.

“If anyone else has better ideas about how to help promote Wrexham, the town’s image and what it has to offer, then I would be more than happy to listen to them.”

The party will take place around High Street and Yorke Street from noon until 6pm this Monday, May 31.

Attractions will include a land train, toboggans and a fun house.

Mrs Booth has also imported a ‘land train’ from France especially for the event.

The train service will begin at the Wynnstay Arms, which Mrs Booth has recently taken over, and follow a route around the town centre,
