TWO school friends of tragic Jordan Evans have decided to honour his memory with a fundraising fun run today.

Hawarden High School pupils Imogen Hardy, 12, and 11-year-old Jessica Woodbury, of Sandycroft, have been left devastated by the death of Jordan who attended Sandycroft CP School with them.

And the pair said they know Jordan would be proud of the efforts made to help his family.

Imogen’s mum Jane, of Mancot, said: “They got together and decided they wanted to do something for the family. They are devastated by his loss.

“Imogen only spoke to him on the Monday morning on the way to school, she has taken it very badly. There is a huge sense of grief in the village, he was a lovely little lad.”

Jordan, 11, a pupil at St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School, Flint, was killed in the crash on the A55 on April 29 which left his four-year-old sister Lilly May fighting for her life and their mum Karen, 36, seriously injured.

The pair have now been released from hospital.

Imogen said: “I was very sad when I heard the news about Jordan. It was so unexpected. We used to play together in primary school all the time.

“I am going to really miss Jordan as my friend. I know he will be very proud of what we are all doing for his family.”

The fun run starts at 4.30pm at Sandycroft playing fields, Phoenix Street. Money raised will be donated to Jordan’s family towards his funeral costs.
