BUCKLEY pub-goers could hold the key to an investigation into the death of a young man in the town.

Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident in Precinct Way, Buckley, where 24-year-old Peter Jones was fatally injured.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the White Lion pub or the Potters Wheel in Buckley between 9pm on Saturday, May 8 and 12.30am on Sunday, May 9.

Detective Inspector Alun Oldfield said: "We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Precinct Way between 12.50am and 1.10 am in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Anyone who may have seen Peter Jones on the night in question is urged to contact Mold CID on 101 or 0845 6071001 (Welsh line), 0845 6071002 (English line) or Crimestoppers Wales on 0800 555111.

Gafyn Thomas Denman, 21, of Woodlands Close, Mold, has been charged with the manslaughter of Peter Jones.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at a preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court on May 21.

A 22-year-old man from Sychdyn was arrested and released on bail.
