FURIOUS residents have slammed vandals who attacked their cars late at night.

Five cars on New Brighton Road, Bagillt were attacked in the early hours of Sunday.

One car had its window smashed while others had wing mirrors damaged.

Pensioner James Littlemore was one of the victims.

Mr Littlemore, 86, said: “You just don’t expect it.

“You look after your car and this is what happens.

“I have owned the car for two years and nothing like this has ever happened.”

Mr Littlemore will have to pay £150 towards the cost of his broken wing mirror.

He added: “The insurance company will bring me a courtesy car then I will have to pay when they return it with the mirror fixed.

“I’m upset because this is a special mirror too. It is heated to stop it from misting and it is a split mirror so I get a better view of what is behind me.”

Another resident, who asked to remain anonymous, was also targeted.

She told the Leader: “It was just mindless vandalism.

“My husband had the wing mirror knocked off his van which he uses for work. I didn’t hear anything because it was a Saturday night and you tend to relax and switch off.

“At first we thought it was just us they had targeted and then speaking to the neighbours, we realised that it happened to other people.

“This road is very quiet as a rule and we never get any trouble.”

Anyone with information should call North Wales Police on the non-emergency 101 number.
