Family and friends are to take part in a sponsored walk in memory of a mother of two who was found dead at her home.

The walk, in memory of Leah Ingham who was found at her home in Montgomery Road, Wrexham, in February will take place on Saturday and is also aimed at raising funds for her two children, four-year-old Callum and two-year-old Megan.

Leanne George, a childhood friend of Leah’s, said: “Leah was very special and the fact that she is no longer here with us is very hard.”

Participants are being asked to wear fancy dress, and Leanne added: “It’s not compulsory but it would add to the fun of the afternoon and I know that Leah would definitely approve.

“I’m not sure yet what kind of costumes people are planning to wear. Leah herself loved to go walking and cycling.

“The route that has been chosen starts from Llangollen town centre and goes to Ruabon. It will be a chance for us to remember Leah and talk about her along the way. The event has been posted on Facebook and the feeling among people is that they are very excited about taking part.”

In a statement released after her daughter’s death, Leah’s mother Heather Harvey said: “Leah was a loving daughter, sister and aunt, and most importantly a wonderful and devoted mother.

“All our attention and priorities must now turn to Leah’s two beautiful children.”

People taking part in Saturday’s sponsored walk are asked to gather at Llangollen bus station and public toilets from noon with the walk starting at 12.30pm.
