A MAN has been jailed for two months after biting a woman during a fight at a house.

Wrexham magistrates court heard Arkan Kadir Rashed, 22, originally from northern Iran, fell out with three people at a house on Broom Grove, Wrexham, on December 5.

John Wylde, prosecuting, said: “All of the parties were at the home of Debbie Emakor and they had been drinking and at some point there was a heated argument between the defendant and three complainants.

“The defendant scratched Rebaz Hassan, headbutted him and punched him in the face.

“Bazhdar Kamal and Debbie Emakor tried to separate them but in doing so were assaulted.”

Mr Wylde said Miss Emakor was bitten on the upper arm and hip, leaving her with bruises. Mr Kamal was punched and scratched leaving him with bruising and a bloodshot eye.

Police were called and asked Rashed to leave but he later returned, the court was told.

An official complaint to police was later made.

The court heard Rashed was making an asylum claim and had been living in Home Office accommodation in Liverpool.

Rashed denied the charges but was found guilty after a trial of assaulting Miss Emakor occasioning her actual bodily harm and assaulting Mr Hassan and Mr Kamal by beating.

Rod Williams, defending, said: “This was a nasty incident. It’s fair to say all parties had consumed a quantity of alcohol.

“It’s clear that had he not gone back to the address after the first incident, a formal complaint may not have been forthcoming.”

District judge Andrew Shaw jailed Rashed for two months, telling him: “A headbutt and two bites are, in my assessment, so serious it must be a sentence of imprisonment.”
