MOLD residents donned rubber gloves and armed themselves with litter picks to help clean up their town.
Scores of volunteers took part in Mold’s annual Spring Clean on Saturday, organised by Tidy Towns Wales, Mold Town Council and Cittaslow Mold.
Schoolchildren, students and community groups were among those who helped litter pick and clear away rubbish.
Delyn AM Sandy Mewies, who also lent a hand, said: “I am delighted that the Tidy Towns idea has taken off so well in Delyn and I would like to congratulate the team in the work they are doing.
“The Mold Spring Clean is a fantastic event which receives great support from local people wanting to make a difference to their environment.
“I was with one team from the environment group BTCV when they were clearing rubbish from an area near the town centre and they told me a local resident had come out to thank them for the work they were doing.
“That’s the sort of success these events are having in local communities across Flintshire.”
