THEY say they course of true love never runs smooth – and that was certainly the case for double wedding sisters Ashleigh and Zara Adams.

More than 60 guests descended on the Holiday Inn near Ewloe on the A55 to see Ashleigh, 25, marry Alex Warren, 23, and Zara, 22, wed Philip Williams, 23.

But things did not go entirely to plan for the Holywell siblings.

Ashleigh, a second-year student nurse at Glyndwr University said: “It was a lovely day, except Philip forgot his ring. He had to race home and get it.

“Luckily, we had got to the venue early so we didn’t run too late.”

The congregation went from tense to tearful as 12-year-old brother Kyle read a love poem.

Asheigh said: “Alex and I said our vows first then our little brother read out a poem.

“It was a poem about what love is. He burst into tears before he read it which had the whole room in tears.”

Zara and Philip, though, could not go on their honeymoon because of the Icelandic volcano crisis.

Ashleigh said: “They had planned four days in Benidorm, which had to be cancelled.

“Zara was absolutely gutted, but all four of us went to Alton Towers for the weekend instead.

“We all like going on the rides so we booked the hotel and stayed there too and after we had been to the theme park, the boys booked us both into a spa and we were pampered.”

Ashleigh, who completes her studies in July, will fly to Florida for her honeymoon with Alex in August.
