DRIVERS are likely to face delays tomorrow (Wednesday, April 21) while investigators work at the scene of a collision in which two men died.
Northbound traffic on the A5 will be diverted through Chirk between 10am and 10.30am, while speed restrictions will be in place on the southbound carriageway.
The section of road affected is between Gledrid and Halton roundabouts.
West Mercia Police collision investigator PC Lois Ellis said the restrictions would only be for no more than half an hour.
She added: “They are necessary to allow photographs to be taken on the approach to the collision scene at Chirk viaduct from both directions.”
The work is in connection with a fatal collision on March 22 involving two lorries and a car.
The driver of the Mercedes estate car involved was Stuart Davies, age 45, of Mold.
At the wheel of one of the lorries was William Thomas Hefin Jones, known as ‘Hefin’, age 43, of Cardigan, Ceredigion.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The A5 closed for several days while safety work and repairs were carried out to the bridge.
