THE Easter bank holiday is set to be plagued by wintry showers in Flintshire, according to weather forecasters.
The outlook for the long weekend is grim and Met Office experts have warned residents that a sunny break is unlikely.
Forecaster Helen Chivers told the Leader: “Friday is set to start with outbreaks of rain and will be quite wet and windy, but conditions could improve in the afternoon.
“It should become dry with some outbreaks of sunshine, but temperatures are unlikely to rise above 9oC in the sun.
“On Saturday there will be some sunny spells, but there will also be showers and they could be quite heavy. The temperatures are likely to be around 8-10oC, depending on where you are in the county.
“It may pick up slightly on Easter Sunday, with fewer showers, but it looks to be windy and wet on Monday, with rain on and off all day.
“All in all, there will be some outbreaks of sun, which we will have to make the most of where we can, but residents must be prepared for rain and wind throughout the weekend.”
