A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage following a blaze at a house.

Crews from Wrexham were called to a property on Huntroyde Avenue in Hightown at 8.20pm on Sunday night following reports of a fire in a bedroom.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels to put out the flames.

A mattress was left burned with smoke damage affecting the rest of the bedroom, and there was also severe smoke-logging across the remainder of the first floor.

No-one was injured.

A police spokesman said a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and was being questioned by officers.
