BRAVE Aaron Aby promises to show plenty of fighting spirit when he steps in to the ring this weekend.

The 20 year-old, who takes part in his second semi-pro mixed martial arts fight on Sunday at Liquid nightclub, in Wrexham, suffers from cystic fibrosis.

Aaron, from Wrexham, won a special CF Trust Breathing Life award for his sporting achievements in 2008.

He has been training twice a day for six weeks to prepare for the fight.

Aaron said: “I have been training in mixed martial arts since I was 14 years old and have taken part in four amateur fights and one semi-pro fight before.

“I used to play football for Wales when I was younger, and was also attached to a professional club but my CF meant they wouldn’t offer me a contract so I decided to focus on martial arts instead.

“I want to show people that CF doesn’t have to hold you back and will also be donating part of the ticket sales on the night to the CF Trust.”

Aaron will compete against 24-year-old Marc Alpin from Weston-Super-Mare.

Tickets are available from Aaron on 07775 931359 or from Russ Williams Martial Arts Academy in Wrexham, £20 or £40 for cage side.

Aaron receives £5 per ticket sold and he will donate £2.50 of that to the CF Trust.
