POLICE are hunting arsonists who pushed a burning wheelie bin against the door of a house.
Occupants of the house on Australia Street, Ponciau, managed to escape unhurt after the fire just before 5am on Friday.
The blaze completely damaged a door and left extensive black smoke marks up the side of the property.
North Wales Police have launched a joint investigation with North Wales Fire and Rescue Service into what they have called an “arson attack”.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information to contact them.”
One fire engine from Johnstown and one from Wrexham were called to the street at 4.57am.
Four fire officers wearing breathing apparatus doused the flames.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wrexham CID on 0845 607 1002.
