A WREXHAM man remains in a critical condition in hospital following an alleged assault in Chester at the weekend.
David Morton Thomas, 38, suffered a serious head injury following an incident at the Temple Bar in Frodsham Street, Chester, shortly before 11.30pm on Friday.
He was initially taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital but was then transferred to the Specialist Head Injuries Unit based at Walton Hospital in Liverpool.
On Tuesday afternoon a spokeswoman for the hospital said Mr Thomas remained in a critical condition.
On Monday Alan Junior Gilmartin, 30, of Sycamore Drive, Lache, Chester, appeared at Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston Magistrates Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Thomas.
The case has been transferred to Chester Crown Court.
A preliminary hearing will take place on April 26 and Gilmartin has been remanded in custody.
