FIRE crews were called out to tackle two gorse fires.
The first was on Hafod Bank at Nant Park, Johnstown, just after 1.30pm on Tuesday where they used beaters and a hosereel to put out a blaze affecting a section of gorse on open land.
Firefighters dealt with a similar incident just after 2pm on land at Pant Hill in Penycae.
