SEVEN wheelchair and pram-friendly buses were unveiled yesterday at Wrexham’s bus depot, making Arriva Wales’ entire 250-strong Welsh fleet easy access.
The introduction of all low-floored vehicles is believed to be a first for a regional bus company of its size and follows a £2.25m investment in new buses last year.
Huw Thomas, senior public transport manager in the Welsh Assembly, officially unveiled the new buses at the county’s main depot in Caego.
Also in attendance were deputy mayor Cllr Jim Kelly and other local elected representatives.
They were joined by the managing director of Arriva Buses Wales, Michael Morton, and head of operations Martin Robinson.
Brymbo county councillor Paul Rogers said: “As someone who has campaigned for greater investment in public transport I am delighted with the investment made by Arriva.
"Today’s launch will see a major difference in the quality of bus services across Wrexham including the Brymbo to Wrexham route.”
