A WREXHAM pub boss has put up a reward for the return of one his most treasured possessions which was stolen in a burglary.

Ardent Liverpool FC fan Clive Ray paid £700 in a charity auction for a framed picture containing four shots of Reds captain Steven Gerrard scoring in a variety of cup finals over the past decade.

It took pride of place in his office at the Trevor Arms in Marford, which he has owned since last October.

But during a burglary at the pub on Sunday, February 7, the picture was stolen along with £1,500 in cash.

Clive, 38, said: “Being such a big Liverpool fan, the picture was really special to me.

“It measures about two feet long by about a foot wide and includes action shots of Gerrard scoring in the UEFA, FA, Champions League and Worthington cup finals.

“What makes it really special is that in the middle of the four pictures is a small white plaque signed by Gerrard himself.

“I bought it for £700 in an auction during a charity ball at Carden Park in 2008. I reckon it could now be worth between £1,500 and £2,000.”

Mr Ray added: “It is unique and very distinctive and I want anyone offered it to know it that it has been stolen from me.

"That is why I am putting up a reward for information leading to its safe return.

“Actually I am more bothered about losing the picture than the £1,500 taken in the burglary.

“I have been a big Liverpool fan all my life and go to all their games.”
