A WREXHAM primary school received a glowing report from inspectors.

Pupils from Cefn Mawr Primary School were praised for their outstanding attitude towards their learning, for being eager to learn and for working hard.

During their visit, the Estyn inspectors reported that Cefn Mawr was a good school which provides pupils with a broad, balanced curriculum and a wide range of activities to enrich and extend the curriculum.

As well as sitting in on lessons, the inspectors observed pupils at various times and commented that the school had high expectations of behaviour and that pupils had a good sense of right and wrong.

Chair of governors, Aileen Richards, said: “The governors are pleased that the inspectors recognise and acknowledge the hard work and commitment of the acting headteacher and staff and also the enthusiasm and achievement of the pupils.

“We will continue to support the school and introduce an effective plan of action to make further improvements.”

Acting headteacher Nora Conde said: “We welcome the findings of the inspection team and are pleased that the inspectors agree with the judgements made by the school on all of its seven key questions.

“This is testimony to the hard work and commitment of a dedicated team of staff and governors and our partnership with parents and the community.

“We can now move forward confidently and continue to raise standards to make Cefn Mawr County Primary School an even better school.”
