POLICE say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of Flintshire couple Paul and Jean Laithwaite.

Det Supt John Chapman, who is leading the investigation, has now launched an appeal for witnesses who may have seen or spoken to the couple prior to their deaths on Sunday evening.

Det Supt Chapman said: “We are piecing together the last movements of Paul and Jean Laithwaite to provide us with as complete a picture as possible of what has happened.

“We know that they were a close couple and family. They did not attend their normal church service last Sunday and I would like to appeal to anyone who saw or spoke to them on that day to contact us.

“From the extensive enquiries that have been conducted since the discovery of Mr and Mrs Laithwaite, and examinations that have been conducted, I can say that at this stage I am not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”

Forensic teams are continuing to comb the area.

Det Supt Chapman added: “The post-mortems. will provide me with the further information I require and I am liaising closely with the pathologist and the coroner.”
