A WREXHAM man’s home-made clips have clocked up more than half a million views on YouTube.

Mike Gallagher, who works for Royal Mail and lives in Hightown, has had thousands of visitors to his “channel” after posting various pieces of footage on the video sharing website.

His page was the most visited in the UK on Boxing Day after he was one of the first to post a clip of the Pope being knocked over by a woman at Christmas Mass.

He said: “In a nutshell I reached number one most viewed in the UK on Boxing Day.
“Not bad especially considering I am up against all the big guns, like the BBC and ITV.

“On that day my videos were watched 81,000 times globally. I even made it to number 40 in the global chart.

“Considering I am a self-taught amateur, I am quite chuffed really.”

Since then Mike’s remix of a car skidding in Devon – which he set to the music of Maurice Ravel’s Bolero – has been watched more than 140,000 times.

And his revamped versions of the Muppets singing Bohemian Rhapsody and Queen singing the Muppets’ version – is also proving popular.

He produces all the videos on computer software at his home.

Mike hit the Leader headlines in December 2008 after he and sons Liam and Dan recorded an anti-bullying rap video, which also became a YouTube hit.
