A WOMAN from Flintshire has her eyes on soap stardom after she made the finals of a radio station beauty contest.

Rebecca Halliwell, from Connah’s Quay, and four other finalists now face the public vote in an online poll to be the face of Liverpool’s Radio City.

If successful, the 24-year-old will appear on the radio station’s promotional leaflets and bag a cameo role on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, among other prizes.

Rebecca, an admin assistant at Deeside College, said: “I entered the competition without really thinking I would get to the final.

“Then I had a call from the station asking if I could go to Radio City tower as I was through to the next stage.

"I went to the station and recorded a short message asking people to vote for me, then I was told I was through to the final five. I was thrilled!

“The other girls are very good looking so I’m unsure of the outcome.”

She added: “I’d be over the moon if I won. I don’t think I’d be able to stop smiling, I have my fingers and toes crossed.”

Voting closes on Thursday and the winner will be announced during The Happy Hour from 6pm on Radio City on Friday.
