THE funeral of tragic young Wrexham mother Leah Ingham is set to take place this week.

Leanne George, of Plas Madoc, a childhood friend of Leah’s, said she had been in contact with family members and that a service for Leah is being arranged for Friday at Pentrebychan Crematorium starting at 10am.

Leanne said: “I spoke to Leah’s mum about it at the weekend and details have been placed on the Facebook page which is entitled ‘Leah Ingham Memorial Fund’.

“It is obviously going to be a very emotional time for so many people. Leah was such a popular woman. I think there will be a lot of mourners who would want to pay their final respects to her.”

Leah, who was aged 25, was found dead at her home in Montgomery Road, Wrexham.

She had two children, four-year-old son Callum and daughter Megan, aged two.

A number of fundraising efforts have already been organised to give the youngsters financial support for their futures, including donation buckets which have been placed at a number of locations in the Wrexham area.

Leanne has been heavily involved in the fundraising drive and last week the Leader reported that there had been a very strong response from members of the public, with lots of people giving generously.

Leanne said: “It has been going very well. The buckets are still currently available to take donations.

"I am thinking about collecting them all up next weekend after the funeral has taken place, but no firm decision has been made on that yet.

“Leah’s death has touched so many people. There has even been someone from as far away as New Zealand writing an entry in tribute to her on Facebook.”

LAST week Brian Buckley, 41, of no fixed address, appeared in court charged with Leah Ingham’s murder.
