SEARCHES will continue over the weekend for a missing Flintshire pensioner.

Pauline Annette Edwards, 68, from Buckley, has not been seen for a week.

Her husband John reported her missing last Friday when she failed to return to their holiday home in Trefor, near Caernarfon, after a walk.

North Wales Police say searches involving mountain rescue teams, search and rescue dogs, the coastguard and force helicopter will continue tomorrow and officers will also be carrying out high-visibility patrols and house to house enquiries.

Insp Mark Armstrong, who is heading up the search, said: "Despite several lines of enquiry there has been no trace of Mrs Edwards since she was last spotted at around 4pm on Friday, February 5, walking on a footpath leading down to the beach.

“We are concerned for her safety and whereabouts and are urging anybody who may have seen her, or anybody who may have information that could assist us to come forward.”

Mrs Edwards is described as 5ft 2ins tall, of slim build, with collar length straight brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur collar, three quarter length black trousers and black boots.
