A COUNCILLOR has questioned whether a community derived any benefit from entering the Wrexham in Bloom competition at a cost of £500.
Cllr Linda Subacchi, vice-chairman of Offa Community Council, told members she honestly did not see any benefit from entering last year’s contest apart from a planter being installed.
Members however agreed that the £500 should be combined with an event to mark the 70th anniversary of The Battle of Britain, with a floral display in red and blue which would also feature as part of Wrexham in Bloom.
