EMERGENCY services were called to two crashes in Flintshire along the A55 this morning.

The first incident was a two car collision in which two people were taken to hospital.

A North Wales ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to a two car RTC near the Caerwys turn off in Flintshire at 8.37am this morning.

"We sent an ambulance and a rapid response team, and two patients, a woman in her 60s and a man in his 40s were taken to Glan Clwyd hospital where they were treated for minor injuries."

The second incident took place shortly after along the westbound stretch of the A55.

A fire service spokesman said: "At 8.57am we attended a one vehicle RTC on the A55 near Broughton.

"The vehicle was made safe and ambulance attended to the casualty."

North Wales ambulance service said: "At 8.56am we were called to an incident along the A55 in which a driver had lost control of his car.

"One ambulance was sent, the driver was checked over at the scene and did not require hospital treatment."

Both incidents have caused rush hour traffic problems across the region.
