WASTE collection bosses at Flintshire Council are desperately trying to get their schedule back on track.
Most of the normal refuse collections have restarted, except those that cover Wepre and the alleys from Queensferry to Connah’s Quay.
Council chiefs say the icy conditions mean lorries cannot access the narrow alleys.
The Blackbrook and Bennetts Lane area of Hawarden is being covered as the first of a series of areas that have not had a collection since before Christmas, along with Little Mountain Lane and Southdown, Buckley.
A council spokesman said the authority is also looking at how to cover Flint Mountain and parts of Greenfield, Holywell, Mostyn, Pentre Halkyn, Brynford, Cymau and Ffrith.
Clinical waste collections which were missed last week are now being collected and dog bins, which had previously been frozen shut, are being emptied.
Recycling collections are being carried out wherever possible and all the county’s recycling parks are open.
