RESIDENTS’ concerns over stocks of road salt in a Wrexham village are to be taken up by a county councillor.
Despite requests to a council emergency out-of-hours number, householders living around the Harwd Road and Railway Road area of Brymbo have been left stranded by ice on steep roads during the cold snap.
Cllr Paul Rogers witnessed first hand the problems faced by residents and reported them to the council.
“There were problems across the community due to black ice and I agree with residents’ concerns that areas should not have been left without a supply,” said Cllr Rogers.
“I have asked for alternative arrangements to be put in place for Harwd Road and Railway Road as the gritting vehicles are too large for these roads.
“I have spoken to senior officers about the problems faced at Railway Road, particularly the empty salt boxes, and I believe these will be resolved as soon as possible.”
