Dozens of explorer Scouts from Flintshire have taken part in 24 hours of non stop activities at the home of Scouting in London.

The annual camp was attended by more than 6,000 young people from across the UK including 70 from Flintshire.

Activities on offer included driving, scuba diving, air bag jump, tank driving and a reverse bungee jump and all carried on through the night, with the explorers, who are aged 14-18 staying up to make sure they could have a go on everything.

Flintshire Explorer Scout leader Steve Love said: “The event was a brilliant experience for the young people, a chance for them to meet with more than 6,000 other explorers from around the country and experience some new activities they would not get the opportunity to try elsewhere.

“The event running for 24 hours continuously brought a novel approach to some activities – a number of ours were off scuba-diving at 3am, partying at the silent disco until 4am and then catapulting themselves 100ft into the air on the reverse bungee jump at 5am. It was a perfect way for them to relax after their exams.”

Throughout the night there was entertainment on offer, from live music to a silent disco, all to help keep the participants awake.
