An inquest has been opened into the death of a teenager who died of stab wounds in Connah’s Quay.
Matthew James Cassidy, 19, of Helston Green, Huyton, Liverpool, died on May 29 after an incident in Bethel Place, High Street.
Another 19-year-old, David John Woods, of Marsh Lane in Bootle, Liverpool, has appeared at Mold Crown Court charged with his murder.
At a hearing in Ruthin coroner’s officer Karen Bartley said that Mr Cassidy had been identified by his fingerprints.
John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, said a post-mortem examination was carried out by Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers, but because of the ongoing police investigations no more details about the cause of death would be given at this stage.
The hearing was adjourned to a date to be fixed when the outcome of the criminal proceedings is known.
