A WOMAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a three car smash near Chester.

A man also suffered minor injuries in the collision, which happened on Barton Road, Farndon, at around 5.15pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services attended the scene, including an air ambulance, while an off duty paramedic was also reported to have assisted.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “The collision involved three vehicles, a blue Golf, silver Vauxhall Astra and a Black Clio. A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and a man suffered minor injuries.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 791 of 20 July. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers.”

A statement on the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service website said: “Firefighters have been at a road traffic collision in Farndon involving three cars. Nobody was trapped in any of the vehicles. 

“Firefighters have been helping paramedics with casualties and have made the area safe. Police officers controlled traffic and the air ambulance and land ambulances have taken casualties to hospital. The fire and rescue crews left the scene at around 19.20.”
