A ROAD that was closed for almost an hour after a woman was spotted on top of a bridge caused traffic chaos in Wrexham.
North Wales Police shut the A483 southbound at Mold Road and the B&Q roundabout junction at about 6.30pm today amid concerns for the woman’s safety.
It was reported that a woman was standing on the bridge surrounded by police officers shortly before somebody was seen to be lying on the bypass.
It has been confirmed a woman was taken to the hospital following the incident.
A North Wales Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were in attendance to the incident and a female has been conveyed to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.”
Motorists were reported to be stuck in long tailbacks on the A483 leading to the B&Q roundabout while the road was closed.
Police reopened the road at around 7.20pm
