PLANS for a new petrol station and other roadside services in Wrexham have been revealed.

An outline planning application received by Wrexham Council requests permission to build roadside services incorporating a petrol filling station with ancillary kiosk, car parking and works on land West of Wrexham Golf Club on Holt Road.

A design and access statement submitted with the application states: “The proposed development will provide an eight pump covered petrol station with ancillary convenience store that will house a 24 hour ‘through the wall’ ATM, a franchised coffee shop/sandwich outlet with the provision for a ‘drive-thru’ coffeeshop facility.

“The inclusion of a ‘drive-thru’ coffeeshop facility is a response to the growing demand from motorists to have access to refreshments on a quick turnaround basis without the need to park or leave their vehicle.

“By associating this with a
petrol filling station, the single port of call option for refueling both cars and occupants is a response to the pace and expectations of modern life.

“There will also be a
self-contained car wash facility within the site.

“As well as providing for the travelling public, the range of services proposed within the site will generate local employment opportunities.

“The landscaping will require sensitive detailed design to ensure the natural environment retains integrity within the overall landscape and will be developed by the operator in line with the principles indicated on the submitted plans.”

The application states the development will include the provision of 55 new car parking spaces.
