CHILDREN had an ‘eggs-ellent’ time hunting for Easter treats at a country park.

Alyn Waters Country Park in Gwersyllt played host to an Easter trail.

Youngsters and their parents got stuck into trailing all around the scenic park in a bid to track down the Easter bunnies which would lead them to chocolate treasure at the end of the day.

With the number of people taking part well into the hundreds, the organisers of the event were ecstatic with its success.

The park’s information assistant Ann Roberts said: “It really was excellent.

“We had 374 children here exactly, and when you include the number of parents and guardians as well you can double that figure for those who took part.

“It started at 10.30am and didn’t stop until 3.30pm. It was packed and everyone had a great time. All the children had an egg each by the end of the day so they were all delighted.

“The credit has to go to the park rangers Richard Aram and John Winter for making it such a success.”
