Chris Herbert believes Cefn Druids' 3-2 success over friend Mark McGregor's Gap Connah's Quay was 'fully deserved'.

Striker Gary O'Toole fired Nomads into a 27th minute lead, but Druids hit back before the break through Tom Donegan.

Ex-Buckley midfielder Derek Taylor handed Druids the advantage five minutes after the restart before Danny Griffiths looked to have wrapped the game up with a late third.

Jamie Rainford netted moments after Griffiths had scored to set-up a tense finish, but Nomads could not grab an equaliser.

Herbert was pleased to see his side get their first victory of the league season, explaining: "I thought we were fully deserving of our win.

"The lads showed great character to come back again and go on and win the game.

"The big difference for me was the impact of Tom Donegan and Chris Rimmer, who both missed the Rhyl game. I thought they were both outstanding."

Herbert, who admitted that it was the right time to face a Nomads team still trying to gel, was less than impressed with his side's first-half display.

"I was not happy with the way we started the game," he continued.

"We were dominated for the first half an hour and could not get out of our own half.

"I think if it was two weeks further down the line and Connah's Quay were more settled as a team the scoreline would have been worse.”

There were two 3-3 draws as Aberystwyth and Bangor City shared six goals, as did Bala and Prestatyn.

Chris Venables and a Jack Cudworth own goal handed Aber a two-goal lead, but Bangor roared back to lead 3-2 as Sion Edwards (2) and Declan Walker struck in the space of 18 second-half minutes.

Venables made sure Aber earned a share of the spoils with his second of the game in the dying minutes of the contest.

Three goals in the final seven minutes made for an entertaining game as Bala visited Bastion Gardens.

Hosts Prestatyn twice took the lead through Ross Stephens and Jack Lewis.

But Kieran Smith and then Mark Connolly, who struck late on, drew Bala level.

Andy Parkinson looked to have won the game for Prestatyn five minutes from time, although ex-Chester attacker Connolly netted moments later to earn Bala a point.

Champions The New Saints cruised to a 6-1 home win over Rhyl, who saw Dave Forbes cancel out Greg Draper's second minute opener.

From that point on however, it was all one-way traffic as Draper, who also missed a penalty, Sam Finley, Alex Darlington, Aeron Edwards and Adrian Cieslewicz scored.

Lewis Harling and Liam Thomas scored for Carmarthen as they won 2-1 at home against Port Talbot.

Daniel Sheehan netted Port their goal.
