A LOCAL author will be celebrating the publication of his first children's book with a launch event at Waterstones, Wrexham.
62-year-old Chris Wright wrote his book Grimlo about a spirit which found itself transported to the author's hometown of Bersham hundreds of years ago.
The idea of Grimlo came to Chris, a former painter and decorator, one night when he couldn't sleep.
He said of the writing process: "I sat up night after night writing until the first book was finished.
“My partner read it and she said it was good and she's my biggest critic.
“Other people read it, Including lots of children, and said I should have it published and so I did."
The illustrations for the book were drawn by a 8-year-old Darcy Badwick, who lives in Rhostyllen.
The book launch starts at noon at Saturday, October 23 and all copies of the book come signed by Chris and Darcy.
