THE new boss of Airbus in Broughton has praised the firm’s staff.
Mark Barclay is the new senior vice-president and head of wing and pylon centre of excellence at the factory.
He is taking over from Brian Fleet, who will retire in June after 36 years of service.
Mr Barclay joins Airbus from aerospace giant Thales and brings with him nearly 30 years of experience.
He said: “I am delighted and privileged to be appointed to this role and to be heading up such a skilled and professional team.
“When you talk about Airbus people pay attention because they know of the quality of the product and the brand.
“I want to make sure it stays that way and I am looking forward to meeting with all the employees that give this company the great name it has.”
Dr Gerard Weber, Airbus executive vice-president for operations, said: “Airbus is pleased to welcome Mark to our team. His inclusive and customer-focused management style, common sense and delivering commitments will be very beneficial to Airbus.”
