MORE than 4,000 visitors turned out to see some of Britain’s best stunt riders and motorcycling names at the Greenhous Meadow stadium.
The Shropshire Rider Skills and Family Fun Day featured 50 exhibitors, local bands and stunt performances on both motorcycles and mountain bikes.
Visitors also had the chance to show their own biking skills with a time trial assault course and ‘have a go’ sessions for new or would-be bikers.
Organiser PC Mick Sturland said the glorious sunshine on the day certainly helped.
He said: “It was the last in a series of rider skills days held throughout the force area but we were keen to turn it into something bigger, to make it a ‘festival’ of motorcycling and a family day out, while also promoting biker safety.
“I thank all of those who worked so hard organising such a fantastic day.”
About £1,500 was raised on the day which will be split between Midlands Air Ambulance and the Shropshire Road Safety Outreach Vehicle project.
