FUNDING for refurbishment work at a Shrewsbury cricket club is to be considered today (Thursday).

An application from Shelton Cricket Club for cash to revamp its wicket covers and roller, and purchase a tarpaulin for wicket cover on match days, will be discussed at a meeting of Bowbrook, Copthorne and Radbrook local joint committee.

An application by the Cafe Connect church charity to replace worn out kitchen equipment at Radbrook shopping centre will also be considered.

The meeting agenda includes updates on local activity from councillors, police, fire and rescue and the area’s community action officer, and gives residents the opportunity to raise any issues.

There will also be a report on the future of the urban extension around the Welshpool Road area and other local planning issues.

Committee chairman Cllr Peter Nutting said: “This is an excellent opportunity for local people to be brought up to date on planning issues in our area and to understand the processes that will be gone through before any final decisions are made.”

The meeting tonight is at Radbrook Primary School, Calverton Way, Shrewsbury from 7pm.
