LIFE-saving equipment worth thousands of pounds has been secured for the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
The League of Friends of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital raked in almost £60,000 from the Ludlow Charity Race Day which will go towards a new cardio-vascular ultrasound scanner.
The scanner is used to diagnose heart conditions without the need for surgery.
All 650 tickets were sold and the total topped up by sponsorship from local businesses and collections on the day.
Jayne Mott, chairman of the League of Friends, said: “It was a brilliant effort and it is good to know how many people this machine helps. We thank everyone who helped raise this fantastic sum.”
