SYDENHAM Family Centre in Bridgwater is to feature in a BBC documentary about ethnic minority children and fostering.
Producers of Family Matters, which is due to screened in July, have been following the progress of nine year-old Halima, who is currently under the care of social services in Taunton.
Her mentor, Antonette Clarke, from Bridgwater, takes her to meet other ethnic minority children at a monthly Asian Women and Friends group held at the centre.
Halima, who is African, features in the documentary as just one child who is looking for adoptive parents.
The aim of the programme is to promote the adoption of minority ethnic children, because most potential adoptive parents are white and British.
