SERVICE stations in Flintshire are among properties targeted by burglars early yesterday.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Rhydymwyn Service Station on the Denbigh Road, near Mold, was broken into just after 2am yesterday (crime reference R129764) and burglars also tried to break into The Roundabout Service Station on King Street, Mold, at almost 2.15am (R129767).

Thelma James, whose partner Rob Standring owns the Denbigh Road garage, said it was the third time the business had been targeted in nine months.

“They trashed the office and ripped all the drawers out, obviously to find money,” she said.

The front door was kicked in and will need replacing and petty cash was stolen.

Vehicles have been taken in the past. This was the first time the premises were broken into.

Police said that shortly after the Mold attempted burglary, number plates were removed from a vehicle in the Rhydygaled area of New Brighton.

The plates (part registration number DA07) might have been placed on a vehicle described as a silver Honda CRV 4x4.

Another attempted burglary took place at a Holywell service station shortly before 2am (R129760).

Burglars also attempted to break into a garage in the Lower Aston Hall Lane area of Hawarden at around midnight (RC14129731) and there was another attempted burglary in Sychdyn at just after 1am (R129749).

Police are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious or with any information relating to any of the incidents to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting the appropriate reference number.

Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers Wales on 0800 555 111.
