BRITAIN’s most tattooed man, antiques buffs and even a Joey Essex lookalike were among big-hearted walkers raising funds for a good cause.

About 50 people took part in a walk to support and raise awareness for the Flintshire Deaf Children’s Society.

Organised by Garden City pawnbroker Regal Pawn, Radio Deeside and the society itself, celebrities joined in on the seven-mile walk along with some of the children in the area who suffer from hearing difficulties.

Danny from BBC’s Del Boys and Dealers, the cast of Pawn Stars UK and Britain’s most tattooed man – who had his name changed from Mathew Whelan to Body Art, of Birmingham – were just some of those who turned out to support the event.

Sam Barton, who doubles as a lookalike for The Only Way is Essex star Joey Essex, also took up the challenge.

The walk started and ended at the Regal Pawn warehouse on Deva Business Park, Welsh Road, where children also got to enjoy a bouncy castle while proceeds from a car boot sale also went to the cause.

Vicki Manning, 28, shop manager at Regal Pawn, said: “It was a great experience for us to be involved.

“We wanted to help make as much money as we could for the society and everyone enjoyed themselves in the process. We met a great group of people and hopefully we raised plenty of awareness for Flintshire Deaf Children’s Society. It was a big success.”

The Singing Hands Choir, of Wrexham, gave performances on the day, using signs instead of voices to create what Vicki hailed as “a phenomenal, mesmerising display”.
