A MAN in his 20s has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after a crash on the A483 near Wrexham.

The incident, which took place about 7.40am, saw a car leave the road and go down an embankment.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a tree was also involved in the incident.

Two fire crews from Wrexham were called to the scene at 7.43am.

The northbound carriageway of the busy A483 remained closed at 10am, causing long queues of traffic between the junctions for Rhostyllen and Ruthin Road at Coedpoeth.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7.38am today to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A483, near Rhos.

"Crews in two emergency ambulances attended, and a man in his 20s with serious injuries was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.”
