A MAN alleged to have slashed a woman across the face will be asked to enter a plea in August.

A provisional trial date was today fixed for November.

Jake Roberts, 19, of Cae Delwyn, Caerwys, faces a charge of wounding with intent.

He appeared at a preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court via a live television link from custody.

His barrister Brendan Carville indicated a not guilty plea.

Judge Rhys Rowlands fixed a plea hearing in August and a provisional trial date in November.

The charge arises from an incident when it is alleged that on June 11, in Abbot’s Walk, Holywell, a 19-year-old woman was slashed across the face with an unknown weapon and needed stitches after suffering a wound to the cheek.
