INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the final movements of a man found dead near a railway line.

British Transport Police are continuing to appeal to the public for information about the final few hours of Daniel Starr's life.

Daniel Christopher Starr, 20, of Heythrop Drive, Heswall, Wirral, was discovered next to the railway tracks between Hawarden Bridge railway station, near Shotton, and Neston, Cheshire, on May 12.

Detective Chief Inspector Iain Miller said: “In the weeks since Daniel’s death, we have continued our efforts to establish the full circumstances surrounding Daniel’s tragic death.
“We remain eager to talk to any of Daniels' friends, in particular anyone who saw him or who may have been with Daniel at anytime on Sunday May 11.
“A group of youths were seen that day on the cycle path near to  Burton village.
“It is particularly important we speak with these young people as they may have important information which can assist us.
“If you were part of this group, were friends with Daniel, or were with him at anytime on that Sunday we would like to speak with you.”

Mr Starr was a white man, 5ft 3in, very slim build, with dark collar length hair, and was wearing a green hooded top, black Vans t-shirt, black jeans and ‘Converse'-type footwear.
At the opening of an inquest into his death, it was revealed Mr Starr’s body was spotted by his friend as he travelled to college by train.
The friend, who was on his way to Glyndwr University in Wrexham, called police and Daniel Starr’s father Stephen.
Mr Starr had been reported as missing after going out with friends.

DCI Miller added: “It’s vitally important for the investigating officers to determine Daniel’s movements up until his very unfortunate death. To do that, we need to speak to anyone who saw or spoke with Daniel on Sunday, May 11 because they could be in possession of some crucial information.”
