A MAN sought in connection with an armed assault which left a teenager requiring stitches to her face has been arrested in Yorkshire.

Inspector Mark Henderson of North Yorkshire Police confirmed last night that 19-year-old Caerwys man Jake Roberts had been detained.

Insp Henderson said liaison arrangements were now being made between the North Yorkshire force and colleagues in North Wales.

It is believed Mr Roberts was arrested on Monday in the Catterick area.

Last week the Leader reported police were appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of Mr Roberts.

Officers wanted to speak to him in connection with an attack involving a weapon in Holywell on Wednesday, June 11.

A 19-year-old woman was left with a face wound after being assaulted on Abbot’s Walk. She required four stitches.

Sgt Dave Tierney asked Mr Roberts to contact the police immediately, or anyone who may know of his whereabouts to call officers on 101.
