A BUSINESS owner has spoken of her devastation after burglars smashed their way into her salon.
Jennifer Bennett Thompson, of Flint, said finding the front window of her business on Northop Road, Flint, shattered yesterday morning was “heartbreaking”.
Mrs Thompson, 35, said it was the third time her salon, Hair by Jennifer, had been targeted this year.
“I got a call from a customer going past to say the salon had been done again. It was awful.
“It’s heartbreaking. I put everything into my business.
“I had to cancel everything. This has really taken its toll on me and the girls.”
Mrs Thompson said the callous burglars threw a breeze block through her window and stole her till and a charity box.
“My husband got there just before eight and it was just horrendous,” she said. “There was glass everywhere.
“It was much more shocking this time. Every time I drive up, I check to see if my windows are okay. It’s a nightmare. There was glass everywhere, holes in my floor and damage to the sofa.”
A spokesman from North Wales Police said the till and charity box had since been recovered and loose change had been taken.
Mrs Thompson said: “What’s upset me the most is that they’ve taken the charity box.
“What kind of people do that? They’re just low- life.”
The business owner, who has run the salon with two other staff members since January 2013, said she had considered installing shutters outside her property but was put off by a hefty price tag and the need for planning permission.
Despite the devastating blow, Mrs Thompson has vowed to not let the break in dampen her spirit.
“We’ll be back open again straight away. The show carries on. You’ve got to get on with it,” she said.
