HUNDREDS of people gathered for a spectacle of fun and live music when Loggfest 2014 took place over the weekend.

The three-day event featured eight live music acts at both the We Three Loggerheads bar and restaurant and the nearby Caffi Florence.

There was also the opportunity to relive some of the motoring classics of yesteryear with a display of vintage cars at the Loggerheads Garage.

A Welsh beer and cider festival also formed part of the event with 12 Welsh cask ales on offer, as well as scrumpy ciders.

And there was plenty of fun for families too, who got to enjoy a number of circus activities, have a go at sword action with fencing sessions, let off steam on a bouncy castle and a ride on a bike track.

We Three Loggerheads owner and event founder Linda Wyatt said: “We were very pleased at the way things went.

“Everyone that took part was thrilled with the event and it is becoming a real part of the community.” Loggfest was launched three years ago due to Loggerhead’s absence on the route of the Flintshire Real Ale Trail.

Since then, other businesses such as the Caffi Florence, Loggerheads Garage and the Colomendy Outdoor Education Centre have come on board to enhance the Loggfest appeal.

“We wanted to do something for ourselves initially but it has grown and it is good to see it become a community event,” Linda said.

“It is a real family weekend now and it keeps growing and growing.

“We don’t charge for people to come and we just want to keep building it up year on year. We all see the potential of it being a regular fixture.”

A new Loggfest website was created to accompany this year’s event which looks set to be held annually in its new June slot having previously been staged in October.

“It is attracting people of all ages and we are determined to make sure there is something to suit everyone,” she added.
