Motorcyclist killed in horror crash is named

ONE of the two motorcyclists killed in a horror crash between a car and six motorbikes has been named.

Nigel Davies, 48, from Penyffordd, died in a crash on the A5104 between Penyffordd and Pontblyddyn on Sunday.

In a tribute to Mr Davies his family said: “Nigel worked for Shotton Paper Mill for 25 years and was well liked and respected.

"He will be sorely missed.

“His family and friends are devastated by the loss of this wonderful husband, father and friend. Nigel was always smiling and always helped family and friends in need of his help.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the kind comments and heartfelt wishes at this tragic time.”

Following the collision another motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in a serious condition.

A further two casualties were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital in ambulances and another two to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
