TWO teenage girls were left “terrified” after a hooded man tried to enter their home in the early hours.

Carolann Williams, 16, and her 14-year-old sister Elisha described the horrifying moment someone “dressed in a black hoody” opened the back door on their home in Albert Avenue, Flint, at about 2am yesterday.

The girls’ mother, Ann Marie Williams, said her daughters had been sleeping in the back room and had been left scared by the incident.

North Wales Police say they have no record of the incident but Miss Williams said they alerted police when officers went to the house later yesterday.

“Elisha is only 14 and she saw someone stood by the back door in the early hours,” said Miss Williams. “He came back and tried the door and it was open.

“The girls turned the light on and he turned his back so they couldn’t see his face.

“When he realised there was someone there he asked for someone and then left.

“I think that if it hadn’t been for the girls my house would have been ransacked.”

Carolann said someone dressed in black came to the back door twice and on the first occasion only Elisha was in the room.

“He was wearing a black hoody and he had his back against the door,” she said.

“He tried the door and then opened it. It was terrifying.”

Widow Jeanette Jones said knowing such occurences were happening on the street made her feel sick.

“It has frightened me,” said Mrs Jones. “It makes me feel more vulnerable because I’m on my own.

“I had a heart attack a year back, if someone breaks in I might have another one.

“It makes me feel so insecure.”
